Psychological support for adults, performers, athletes, and adolescents navigating performance pressure, anxiety, burnout, identity, and emotional pressure.
Dr Peta Blevins
Therapy offers space to better understand yourself, navigate emotional difficulties, and develop more sustainable ways of coping, functioning, and relating to the pressures you may be carrying.
With a background in dance and performance environments, I have a particular interest in working with individuals navigating high-pressure and identity-driven spaces.
I work with adults and older adolescents who may appear highly capable on the outside, while internally experiencing anxiety, self-pressure, emotional exhaustion, uncertainty, or disconnection from themselves.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based psychological practice. I aim to create a space where clients feel supported to better understand themselves, develop practical coping strategies, and build sustainable wellbeing.
Therapy may involve:
practical tools
reflective conversations
understanding patterns
learning to respond differently under pressure
developing self-compassion
building flexibility
reconnecting with identity outside achievement.
While therapy may support symptom reduction, I also see the process as an opportunity to develop greater self-understanding, emotional insight, and a more sustainable relationship with yourself, your wellbeing, and the demands placed upon you.
Who I Work Best With
You may be a good fit for this work if:
You are highly capable externally but struggling internally
You place significant pressure on yourself
You feel emotionally exhausted despite functioning well
Your identity has become heavily tied to achievement or performance
You want more than symptom management - you want greater understanding of yourself
You value thoughtful, reflective, evidence-based therapy.
Performance, Movement, and Identity
Alongside my work as a psychologist, I have a background in dance and a particular interest in performance science, movement-based contexts, and the psychological experiences of individuals working within high-performance environments.
This informs my understanding of:
Performance pressure and expectations
Perfectionism and self-criticism
Injury and identity shifts
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
The relationship between body, movement, and mental wellbeing.
For many performers, athletes, and high-achieving individuals, identity, self-worth, and wellbeing can become deeply intertwined with performance. Therapy can provide space to explore these experiences with greater openness, flexibility, and self-understanding.
Taking the First Step
Seeking support can feel daunting, particularly if you are used to coping on your own.
